I only have one very sturdy dog, not one of the racing sort of dogs and I’d like to run her and I know in the junior competitions just one dog can pull a sled so I was wondering what size would be good.

One dog is going to have a hard time pulling any sort of sled. You should consider skijoring where your dog pulls on you while on skis. That can be done with one dog, although two is recommended. Don’t try to have your dog pull a sled with you on it. It is too heavy and runs the risk of injuring your dog.
