McArthur, 53, enjoys his hobby of dry-land dog mushing almost as much as he loves the five German shepherds that lead him through the trails in the Apalachicola Forests or the Alford Greenway.

Shadow is the youngest dog in McArthur’s pack. He’s also the second fastest and strongest. IRICKA BERLINGER/Chronicle

We would really love to find out how the dry-land sled was built or if there is a company from which we can purchase a similar dryland sled? We live in WI so a local store would be great, but not necessary. Please, please reply so we can find or build some type of dry-land dog sled before summer/dry-land training is over! Thank you! Direct email is usmce4@yahoo.com

I have a two year old husky who runs with me when I ride my recumbent trike. Someone suggested I should get her shoes to protect her feet. Any suggestions?
