Musher Damion Robb finished in first place with a combined time of 20:39 in the 4-Dog Rig Class Sportsmen’s Group at the East Meets West Dryland Challenge, held at the Brainerd International Raceway, November 17-18, 2007.

Robb raced for the Chukka Caribbean Adventures Jamaica Dogsled Team with a four-dog team provided by Ken and Donna Davis out of Elfstone Kennels in Twig, MN.

Robb had previously finished in 2nd place out of a field of 12 in the Pro 4 Dog Rig Class Sled Dog Race at the Byllesby Dryland Classic held in Cannon Falls, MN, October 20-21, 2007 — his first ever race. He followed with an impressive 3rd place finish in a very competitive field of 16 teams in the Adult Rig 4-Dog Speed Class at the Dirty Dog Dryland Derby in Pearson, Wisconsin, October 27-28, 2007.

“Robb was just fantastic again,” says trainer Ken Davis. “He had some leader troubles on Saturday and there was a big tangle, but he stayed calm and focused, got out of it on his own and proceeded to pass two teams.”

Robb will return to Jamaica with his trophies for a break until December 15, 2007 when he’ll return to Minnesota to start training for the first of nine scheduled races on snow, the Kinross Classic Sled Dog Race, 4-Dog Pro Sled Class, January 5-6, 2008 in Kinross, Michigan.

The Jamaica Dogsled Team is sponsored by Jimmy Buffett and Margaritaville, Sorel, Annamaet Petfoods and Alpine Aviation, and is the newest addition to the Chukka Caribbean Adventures family.
