Bill Kornmueller stayed close enough to Daryl Hollingsworth to win the two-day Eagle River Classic on Sunday, while Kris Rasey opened the day of racing for the Chugiak Dog Mushers Association with a tight victory in the 6-dog, 8-mile race. Kornmueller trailed Hollingsworth by 12 seconds after finishing Sunday’s 14-mile heat in 42 minutes, 44 seconds.
